– The Vision –
~ For the churches of Coventry to demonstrate their love for the city and its people by an act of service and generosity putting us at the heart of the festival ~
– What We Do –
We set ourselves in the prime location, a site on Greyfriars Green, 33ft square, right by the main walkway of MotoFest, to provide free family based activities that demonstrate our love for the city and its people. At the heart of the event, we will run:
– Free children’s activities
– Healing on the Streets
– The HOPE Arena: The central concert area in Greyfriars Green will be the HOPE Arena, with multiple banners proclaiming ‘HOPE Coventry – city churches working together’. Christian bands will perform on both afternoons.
– HOPE United Gathering (Sunday morning): The HOPE Arena will be the focal point for the United Gathering of many churches from across Coventry on the Sunday morning when we celebrate and pray for our City. Last year we had a gathering of nine full congregations and representatives from many others. The band-led worship and prayers for the city were particularly well received by the many bystanders and fellow organisers.
– How You Can Help –
Here is how you can contribute:
Ambassadors– those prepared to give out programmes and be a helping hand and a friendly voice to festival visitors.
Practical help – Tent setting up and tearing down at the beginning and end of the event. 7.30am Saturday and 4pm Sunday.
Face painting – those with basic skills in using a paintbrush are encouraged to get involved – 1 or 2 hour shifts.
Kids’ crafts – we provide ideas and materials, and need people with a heart for working with children to help and support them in their activities.
